FTTH Drop Cable FRP Strength Member 0.4-1.2mm Precise Diameter Easy-Strip Central Reinforcement For Fiber Optic Cable
Product Details
ftth drop cable strength member
,precise diameter tolerance core
,easy strip smooth surface rod
The FTTH drop cable FRP strength member is a fine-diameter fiberglass reinforced plastic rod produced by precision pultrusion for the reinforcement of fiber-to-the-home drop cables, indoor wiring cables and small-core distribution cables. With diameters from 0.4 mm to 1.2 mm, this rod supplies the mechanical backbone that protects delicate optical fibers from tensile stress, bending damage and rodent attack during installation and long-term service. Every meter is manufactured with a tight diameter tolerance of ±2%, which keeps cable geometry consistent so that attenuation remains stable across the whole production batch and throughout the installed network.
Key Features- Fine diameter precision: available in 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.9 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm with ±2% tolerance for stable, repeatable cable core construction.
- High tensile performance: tensile strength of 1100 MPa minimum keeps fibers protected during pulling, bending and high-tension installation work.
- Easy strip and splice: the smooth, uniform surface strips cleanly from the sheath without sticking, speeding up connectorization and termination.
- Non-metallic safety: zero metallic content means no lightning risk, no induced current and no corrosion, which is ideal for aerial and campus FTTH drops.
- Kink-free flexibility: the rod recovers its straight shape after repeated coiling, preventing permanent deformation inside the cable and simplifying handling.
- Batch consistency: every reel is 100% inspected for diameter, straightness and surface quality to keep production yields high.

This strength member is specifically engineered for FTTH drop cables, including figure-8 self-supporting drop cables, flat dielectric drop cables, indoor riser cables and G.657-compliant bend-insensitive cables used in the final meters of the access network. It also serves as the central reinforcement of small-diameter distribution cables, patch cord assemblies and fiber optic sensor cables. In the factory, the rod feeds smoothly into stranding lines without twist accumulation, and its stable outer diameter ensures uniform sheath adhesion and reliable jacket thickness control. For installers, the light weight and spring-back resistance make the finished cable easy to pull through conduits, around corners and along building facades without stressing the optical fibers inside.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceAll rods are supplied on sturdy plastic or plywood reels with edge protection and moisture-proof wrapping, and each reel carries a label showing diameter, length, batch number and production date. Quality control follows the ISO9001 system: raw glass fiber and resin are verified on arrival, in-line gauges monitor diameter continuously, and finished lots are sampled for tensile strength, bending performance at high and low temperature, and surface smoothness before release. A pre-production sample is offered for customer approval and third-party inspection is welcome before shipment. With a monthly supply capacity of 5000 km and a standard lead time of 30 days, we provide dependable support for FTTH cable manufacturers of every scale.
